Technology to understand preferential groundwater flowpaths

The risks associated with subsurface contamination are related to groundwater transport, but conceptualizing the three-dimensional flow of subsurface contaminants is difficult. Understanding groundwater flow paths requires big data technology to collect several hundred thousand data points and create a high-resolution image of subsurface reality, instead of a mere model. Environmental applications for this solution include: tracking pollution plumes, identifying seepage pathways from liquid impoundments and monitoring landfill leakage
