Chris leads the Arup London contaminated land team and is a Specialist in Land Condition (SiLC), Chartered Scientist and Waste Manager. He has over 25 years’ experience in the UK and across the world which covers a wide range of environmental engineering and consultancy work within the fields of contaminated land, waste management, environmental permitting, environmental assessment, due diligence and water quality.
Chris has authored, been on steering groups and contributed to national guidance including British Standards, regularly speaks at conferences, and is a guest lecturer at universities. Chris was part of the Arup project team which delivered the HCA Guidance on Dereliction, Demolition and Remediation Costs (2015), authoring the remediation chapters.
Estimating remediation costs using the Homes and Communities Agency guidance
Provide a brief overview on the remediation aspects of the HCA Guidance on Dereliction, Demolition and Remediation Costs (2015), including purpose, methodology and use of the guide and exclusions. The presentation will include project examples where the guidance has been used to influence a masterplan design and as a means of prioritising sites with respect to potential contamination liabilities.
