Hazel Davidson
Derwentside Environmental Testing Services (DETS)
Hazel Davidson has worked in the Environmental Analysis industry (ALcontrol Laboratories and DETS) for over 30 years, initially as an analyst, but then in a series of managerial roles. Hazel has participated on several industry committees – EIC (chair of Laboratories Group), MCERTS, BMTA, BSi, the CIRIA asbestos PSG, the SCA (chair of solids working group), and SOBRA. Hazel is a frequent speaker at conferences, and runs several training seminars each year for industry professionals, as well as providing general technical support, to both staff and clients.


Innovations in Laboratory Testing
A review of recent developments in laboratory methodologies, including lower detection limits, improvements in GCMS (3D chromatography), automated sample preparation, and the measurement of respirable asbestos fibres in respirable dust.
